Meet Ups

There is a new site called www. poetry. meetup.com. On this site you can either join a meetup for poets and poetry lovers or create your own meetup. This enables you to join up with local people and hang out. However, the site isn't just for poetry, it's for any general interst such as comic books, baseball, or even sexual preference. You first search by interest or hobby, then choose a location, and then meet up with people who share similar interests. They have over a 100 cities in the US, Canada, and even other countries that you can choose from. Their motto is "Whatever your interest, whereever you are". You must be at least 18 years old to join and the sign up consists of only five simple questions. They also have links to help you plan your first meetup, promote your meetup, communicate with your members, and manage your group.
